Ramsey County History Society Presents History Revealed

The Story of George Bonga
Joel Brown will present and reenact the story of George Bonga, a legendary fur trader, entertainer and storyteller. Born to an African-American father and an Ojibwe mother, George Bonga is believed to be one of the first people of African-American descent born in Minnesota. His story is interwoven with the early days of the Minnesota territory and the history of fur trading in our region.
