Tuesday with a Scholar: OLLI Talks

Terrorists and De-radicalization: A Minnesota Model

Although small in overall numbers, incidents of terrorist recruitment in the Minnesota Somali community have created outsize fear, grief and horror among the families and loved ones left behind.  Join retired U.S. Minnesota District Court official Kevin Lowry as he talks about the impact of terrorist recruiting on the Somali community, and the model he developed for  successful reintegration of  young men from the community who had been lured into a life of violence.  A Tuesday Scholar event.
Kevin Lowry retired recently as Chief Federal Probation Officer of the Minnesota District Court. He continues to consult widely on issues of terrorism and de-radicalization.
